One Simple Way to Reach Your Daily 10,000 Steps

Whether you own a fitness tracker and aim to reach those 10,000 steps per day or you just want to try to fit a bit of exercise into your daily routine, this post is for you. While it may seem impossible to add any extra activity to your busy schedule, here's one thing everyone can try: walk around campus more!

Take advantage of our spacious campus to be a bit more active every day. You don't need to hit the gym or take a long hike to get moving, just walking more on a regular basis will improve your sleep schedule, boost your mood, reduce the risk of heart disease, and provide you with plenty of other benefits.

Take a look at the infographic below to see how many steps you can get in just by walking around our campus!

Here are a few ideas on how to get out on campus and walk more:

  • ask a friend to meet up with you on the other side of campus

  • park at the back of the parking lot, or if you have an upper lot pass, park in the pit

  • get off a few bus stops away from your destination

  • go for a walk during your study breaks instead of browsing social media or watching Netflix

  • resist the urge to take the bus or catch a ride across campus (this one's hard to resist, I know!)

As always, check back next Thursday for more health and wellness tips from our great team of bloggers!
