120 Days of Summer

Well Voyageurs, you've made it! You've tackled lengthy exams, sat through lectures running on nothing but minutes of sleep and copious amounts of coffee, and studied notes until you were sure you'd go insane-in other words you survived just another year of student life. But now summer is officially here for us all and we're trading in textbooks for novels, study notes for board games, and coffee for champagne-it's time to celebrate!

But what do you do now with all of your free time? Travel? Lounge? Netflix and chill? The transition from crazy student life to summer break can be wonderful and confusing all at the same time.

We want you to get the most out of your summer break, and so for our last blog post of this year we've decided to share with you a few ways that we think will help you to have one hell of a summer!

1. Read a new book

This may not be for everyone, but its definitely one of our personal favourites. Reading is a great way to keep your mind sharp and in shape, creating a whole new world for you to explore without even getting out of bed! Take time this summer to pick up a few good books, you'll be surprised at what a little reading can do for the soul.

2. Hit the beach

Theres nothing like a nice relaxing day at the beach. The sun, the sand, the water-it really doesn't get much better.

We only have that beautiful summer weather for a short amount of time so make the most of it this year by spending a few relaxing days at your local beach. Pack a lunch, bring your beach games, and enjoy some much needed away time with family or friends!

3. Fuel up on some healthy foods

We know it's easy to break from your healthy routine and binge on junk food- especially during the summertime! But it's important to keep your body fuelled on good food instead of dragging it down with garbage so that you can be both mentally and physically ready to take on the adventures that await! And if you're in need of some healthy options, why not take a look through some past blog posts to see what you can whip up!

4. Get out, get camping

Camping is an absolute must during summer break! Whether your a regular outdoorsmen or a straight up city girl, camping is something that everyone must experience at least once, and even if it's only in the comfort of your backyard. It's a refreshing way to unplug and experience nature, and many people find that camping is a huge stress reliever!

5. Have a bonfire

No summer vacation is complete without a classic bonfire. Gather your blankets, pillows, marshmallows, and chocolate and prepare for a night of magic-watching the flames dance and burning bright can be pretty mesmerizing.

6. Do one thing you've never done before

The last thing you want is to waste away your summer and so we're challenging you to do one thing this summer that you've never done before. This could be anything: camping, surfing, climbing a tree. It doesn't have to be anything huge or something that cost a lot of money, but it should be something that you've never done before so that you can come back from your summer break having had a new experience to share. The challenge is on Voyageurs!
